It’s been a long time since D’mitry and I went on a real adventure. A combination of study, working what has recently become three and a half jobs and ceaseless socializing has left little time for adventures beyond over-excitement with everyday, mundane events such as wearing hoodies or finding new dinosaur toys. Don’t get me wrong, these were all very exciting events that definitely merit getting excited about but when we compare these with the Big Adventure last January/February they seem a tad on the small side. But I have good news: I finished my last exam on Tuesday (and by last exam I really mean only exam because arts/education faculty represent).
So this means adventures are about to ensue. There is already two planned. However, one of these adventures is sadly one I must embark on alone with D’mitry at home trying not to cry. It’s really quite tragic. This adventure will be paintball and D’mitry is simply too small to hold a paintball gun that is somewhere between 50 and 100 times his size. It’s just not possible. Perhaps we can try to fix this problem the way we always fix problems, with MS Paint, but it just won’t be the same as firing paint at people.
The second adventure, however, is one D’mitry will absolutely be attending. We’re going hiking. In the middle of winter. With other like-minded crazy people and a few who don’t know what they’re getting themselves into. Photos to be published in a few weeks after I’ve hiked my heart out and showered my way out of hypothermia. You’ve got a lot to look forward to.
